91% of plastic isn't recycled.
8.3 bilion metric tons of plastic have been created in the past six decades.
Plastic takes more than 400 years to degrade, so most of it still exists in some form, so
a majority of the plastic sits in landfills or pollutes the environment. Most of the plastic eventually
end up litering the ocean.
Only 34.7% Americans recycle.
It's up to you to raise that percentage! When we recycle in our own homes, we conserve materials
and reduce the need to consumer natural resources, protecting wildlife everywhere. Recycling reduces
the need to extract and process raw materials, limiting air and water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions,
and energy. What does this all mean? By recycling in our daily lives, we can protect the place we call home!
